Happy As A Songbird
I'm feeling happy as a songbird right now! Life has slowed down drastically and I have made the huge decision not to keep traveling to London for work. Winchester is my home and being a Hampshire based photographer is where my heart lies. Along with being a UK fashion blogger, beauty blogger and makeup artist all the traveling was really getting silly. If you know me well you know I don't shy away from hard work as I love to help others. From helping brands grow, capturing all the cherished moments for parents to makeup education. But enough was enough and I could see myself becoming increasingly rundown.
I'm focusing on my own brand 100% and that means its all home based. Winchester has my heart and I can't be torn away from it any longer. Sarah Bacchus, is here to stay! It's a huge relief and making the decision was a little hard. Many factors came into play but one that stood out was the need to focus on my own work and be able to make important choices. The freedom to travel on a whim and not have too many ties.
Also being a fashion and lifestyle blogger Winchester is the perfect backdrop for all my adventures to be shared once again! I will never say I have outgrown this delightful place ever again. It feels so good to know I won't be heading off too often to the city. The husband is still commuting back and forth but we are well and truly in love with Winchester.
I'm finally launching a exclusive makeup academy in a few months and I see it as a wonderful opportunity for my band to help others shine and visit our wonderful little city in the process.
I might need to travel at some point as I've been involved with a nail brand launch over the last year and it looks like its happening in a few months. So cutting out the rest of the work load and concentrating on my own photography, makeup academy and my blog had to take priority. And the best part is that i get to do all of it here in beautiful Winchester!
My smile and my contentment is back to stay after a few months of uncertainty and a lot of stress. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I can also spend time with my dogs, put the energy I need into my what really makes me happy and focus on mine and my husbands future.
My fashion blog is back and I'm going to be sharing all my styling tips with you once more as I did when I had my old blog SLB Style! It's 7 years since I first ever wrote my first blog post and in that time I've learn so much about blogging, life, friendships and how to be happy.
Fashion blogging is so addictive and I really love to share all my experience for those of you who need a little inspiration. So today's blog features the new IT dress from Warehouse. It's been featured in countless magazines and it's one of those little dresses that flatters any figure. Wrap dresses are an essential in every girls wardrobe. Curvy girls will look incredible, pear shaped ladies will look just sensational and the waistless rhubarb's lasses like myself will suddenly get that hourglass shape we all long for!
I adore the asymmetrical shape this dress has. Teamed with my favourite Russel & Bromley over the knee boots (yes I still own them) it looks perfectly balanced with the black trimming and waist bow.
Naturally I themed my makeup and wore a pop of coral lipstick to pull the look so effortlessly together. Makeup plays such a huge part of any look you wear.
Happy As A Songbird Outfit
Once the outfit pictures where snapped by my amazing hubbie we headed off to have a wander about the city. We nipped into Electric Hound. One of my favourite vintage inspired shops we have in Winchester. So worth a visit as they have the most delightful Kimonos, blazers, jewellery and homewear.
With the shopping done we popped into Piquant for some tasty wine, bread and olives. Both myself and my husband are detoxing over the next 4 weeks, so a little indulgence before the rubbish is cut out wont hurt too much!
The best thing about Piquant's olives is they are already pitted! I can't abide having to spit out the pips! Not the only reason to visit but a good enough one for me!
I hope you have loved having a little look into my life here in Winchester and reading about my style. Come back again soon!
