I’ve Changed My Life!

Not to be a girl who’s cried “I’m changing, my life” but I’ve changed my life! I recently have undergone some drastic….well life changes! Making new habits, discarding old useless ones in favour of let’s just say healthy new ones. I’ve banished all stress and along with that heels. Not everyday but on days when I need a little TLC and comfort. I love my heels like most girls but there is a time in life when you need a little break!

The thing is, for years, every time I went to put on flats a little voice in my head told me I looked childish. Now I’m 46 I think we all can safely say I’m far from immature when it comes to any area in my life but a very headstrong, independant woman that knows what’s going on. I’m not easily fooled and have a very good perception on life. I kid you not I do suss out people and situations in seconds and sometimes I decide to ignore the obvious and just get on with things regardless. Normally I will see sense and make changes. This has come to my poor feet and my new found love of weekday comfort over glamour!

Two things that have helped me transition from heels 24/7 and the occasional use of flats is my new found love of casual dressing with smart blazers. And I have an obsession with blazers in the warmer climate. They look phenomenal with any footwear for any body shape. I have an infinite supply new and wonderful ones to share over the next few months that look so stylish worn with all manner of footwear! But I’m oddly swaying to trainers and smart casual wear.

Why is this so great? Well I feel so god damn comfortable all day! Some might say its odd to have this revelation so late in life but in my defence I grew up in a house of glamour. Mother being a 60’s model an all I never really knew any difference and flats didn’t ever have the edge!

I wanted this particular laid back photoshoot my hubby helped me with to channel my inner urban rock chic! Let me know what you think and I will see you next time!

My style diary outfit consists of another pair of New Look jeans, a double breasted H&M blazer that has Balmain written all over it, Adidas (Kids) trainers as my feet are actually a size 5 in sports shoes (yay less expensive) a rather pricey Louis scarf (40th birthday gift so its ok) RayBan sunglasses, Accessorize bag, Gucci Love bangle (as ever) & the most amazing Sass & Edge cotton and cashmere Breton top (in an XL for style and comfort) what has happened to me! Although the blazer is really rather incredible you have to forgive me!
