The Style Bible - Psychology Of Colour Guide
The grey days after glorious sunshine and dull weather can effect even the happiest of people. With all the monochrome outfits coming back out of hiding, colours are being avoided and the bright cheerful shades pushed to one side once more....I say don't do it. Grab that bright jacket over safer options you have in your wardrobe. And if you want to feel happier today I'm sharing the psychology of colour. It's a proven fact that colour effects your wellbeing and if you know anything about me by now it's that I'm an ambassador for happiness.
Don't head towards black as there's no wonder why we all are a little down in the dumps when the sun decides to hide for a few days! What do you need to do? Head out and pick up an outfit full of colour thats what! Even with an entire wardrobe full of black clothes you can change the look and feel of your attitude by adding a couple of new items. And this will lift your summer spirits before you know it!
It’s easy to forget that psychologically dark shades and lack of colour is really having a huge impact and effect on all of us. I suffer form Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D) and I really notice this more when I get dressed in the mornings. If I do tend to sway towards an all black outfit I take a tip out of Audrey Hepburn's book and wear a bright coral or red lip.
It's so easy to inject even the smallest amount of colour into your day with a new jacket, the right makeup, a pop of cream blusher or a new nail colour can add a little spark and lift your day!
Just see how colour can alter your outlook and attitude in an instant. It will also attract a smile and a positive vibe around you.
