The Style Bible - I Don't Follow I Lead
The positive side of life is the most beautiful side of life don’t you think? So with that said why is it so important that we all post the best images? I have countless funny ones my husband captures of me off guard and they make me laugh so hard. So why don’t I share them I have thought to myself!!! Well from now on I will be sharing a few that I think it’s hilarious if they occur. I have decided “I don’t follow I lead” and I want to do something different to help you all feel more human!!
Is your life is as good as your Instagram feed? Are you as blissful in real life or not? Or are you just faking it? I don’t know about you but I love to share real images (the best ones naturally) my stying tips and tricks, easy fashion looks and to help others feel that they can do the same. But like most of us on social media it’s not really my thing to post unflattering images on my feed as I prefer to lift you all up and inspire you with the nicer images. From fashion, style, beauty and health it’s all about how you can feel incredible yourself. But they have been set up and well thought out. It’s pretty obvious when you see my feed I’m passionate about photography, clothes, style and beauty.
At 46 I’m very proud of looking my best and why not. But behind every instagram feed there is someone who wants to share things to the world. It’s up to that person what they share and we all choose to share the best ones, but why? The best food pictures, their cat, their work or like me my style inspiration, occasional beauty tips and nails! All positive factors with stunning images that can help others. But it’s occurred to me why don’t we ever see behind the scenes images?
When we have fun and are positive about life, our own direction, destiny and determination it’s then that you will truly have our future goals unfold at our fingertips no matter what obstacles are thrown in your path. With positivity, fun and being human you really can allow our dreams to fall into place!
The phrase “fake it till you make it” comes up time and time again though. I call it visualisation not faking matters. Don’t get me wrong I don’t fake anything on my instagram…it’s me that’s for sure. 100% honest and open about my life but only the snippets I want you to see.
Me not able to stand while being photographed!!!
Some of the locations I choose to shoot in are not. The reason for this is aesthetics, light conditions, having fun with creating beautiful images that enhance the fashion and we are photographers here in the Bacchus household. We are very passionate about every aspect of an image as each and every image tells a story. So why not share the truly hysterical ones too!
But behind the scenes on social media we all have days when it’s not all pretty pictures, glowing skin and stylish outfits. There are days like today when I’m sat on the sofa with my hair on top of my head, no makeup (ahhh makeup free days are the best) sipping gingerbread green tea and writing this article hoping to help or inspire even just one person. Those days won’t be days that I will share…as they are for me only, plus my photographer (husband) is away working. Darn it what a shame!
I hope me taking time out to connect with you my reader whoever you are out there has been fun. Isn’t that a weird thought! So my message to you today is to repeat after me… “I don’t follow I lead!”
