I have successfully been vegan for a few months now and I feel so much healthier, I'm sleeping well, I'm not getting Indigestion or heartburn. I'm finding food and coking more interesting and above all I feel that I'm not causing suffering. I know it's a small dent in the world of cruelty free but at least I'm trying.

I have noticed various changes in my life and also to my body. It's been a bumpy, lumpy and weird few weeks with a few odd side effects that have now died down. My fridge looks totally different and so does my life!

  1. Eat mindfully and don't bolt down your food. Excess air when consuming food will cause unwanted gas! Gas and more veg consumption at the beginning is inevitable so be aware you might pop a little more until your gut calms down!   
  2. Chew your food as much as you can. The enzymes in your gut will need all the help they can get in the first few weeks. New gut flora will be forming and old being expelled. You will really notice a big change by week 3-4 and see your tummy looking flatter and feel more lean.
  3. Take supplements, as you might be missing out on various minerals in the beginning when you are new to becoming a vegan. Getting the balance right, learning to cook totally different meals can take a while.
  4. Don't expect a huge amount of weight loss at the beginning. You might even feel a little bloated until your body finds its natural pattern. This will pass I promise you! You will see amazing results in no time at all. I feel incredible slim and positive! 
  5. Cook with as many whole foods as possible. Don't just swap all the meat & dairy for packaged snacks and crap alternatives. They are sure to be packed with sugar. If your wanting to do this for Heath reasons make a conscious effort to change everything for the better and that means cooking from scratch! It can be so much fun if you put your heart into it!
