Styling The Statment Coat

  1. When styling statment item like this coat keep the rest of the outfit simple
  2. Add in texture with accessories like your shoes. Textures are embellishments, animal prints, ruffles, gems, or anything with construction to the touch
  3. Blend in colour palettes by enhancing the shades
  4. Think about construction and length of individual key garments. Make sure they flatter the figure by ending at the slimmest part of the arms or legs
  5. Don’t try too hard as it will reflect in the overall look
  6. To look polished keep the look clean with a pop of colour. Colours are depicted by shades of blues, reds, orange, green, purple and pinks. Neutrals are your base shades of white, black, grey, beige, navy and cream. These are not qualified as colours in the fashion world. So you can wear a mix of neutrals and add in up to 2-3 colours. But think about the amount to add. Less is more…Just remember that!
  7. The key shade here is the block blue. I have added a pair of blue sunglasses but equally I could have added an orange pair of heels or rose gold to give the outfit life
  8. Lastly have fun and put things together that you wouldn’t normally wear. You might be surprised that it works!
